He appreciates the regressive nature of property taxes and the disproportionate burden they place on some households. It is why he will prioritize needs over wants so that Guelph can get on a sustainable path of affordability and long term financial security.

Greg is committed to investing in services that benefit the greatest number of residents and strengthen the community as a whole. He believes public transit should be affordable, reliable, safe, and convenient, and that funding decisions should prioritize programs that deliver clear, measurable value to the public. By focusing resources on high-impact services, Greg aims to ensure residents see meaningful results from their tax dollars.
Building On A Caring Community
Like many fellow citizens, Greg has been taken aback by the pressing needs and challenges many in our community face. This is at a time when Guelph, like many Ontario cities, is facing an uncertain economic future and citizens are being hit hard by an affordability crisis. Greg understands that a caring community needs to protect the most vulnerable and that a long term plan that is supported by all levels of government is necessary to address housing needs in the community. In the short term, Greg supports maintaining rental support programs and improving shelter services that demonstrates a city’s compassion while also reducing crisis based overspending.
Smart Spending Initiatives
Greg is committed to investing in services that benefit the greatest number of residents and strengthen the community as a whole. It is for this reason that one of Greg’s passions is improving public transit so that it is affordable, reliable, safe, and convenient for all Guelph residents. Greg believes that strategic investments in express lines and other route design changes can make Guelph Transit the go to option to get around the city, creating a more vibrant and economically strong downtown. By focusing resources on high-impact services, Greg aims to ensure residents see meaningful results from their tax dollars.
Economic Growth & Financial Stability
Greg believes a strong local economy is the foundation of a stable and thriving community. He supports initiatives that encourage business growth, job creation, and sustainable development while ensuring municipal revenue keeps pace with the services residents depend on. Greg supports exploring responsible ways to increase revenue without placing additional pressure on property taxpayers. He believes the city should make strategic investments to generate increased revenue from outside tourists and visitors who pay the Municipal Accommodation Tax directly to city coffers. Greg is committed to focusing on projects that demonstrate a clear return by attracting investment and generating top line revenue growth that will fuel the city’s long-term financial health and prosperity.
Ward 5 Engagement
Greg believes strong communities are built through active participation and open communication. He is committed to engaging with residents, community organizations, and civic leaders to ensure decisions reflect the voices and priorities of the community. Greg has listened to Ward residents and understands that responsible infill development needs to respect the neighbourhood aesthetic. It also must be limited in size and be strategically placed to reduce the impact on neighborhood infrastructure and services. By committing to more in person and virtual town hall meetings Greg will encourage meaningful resident involvement. Through increased communication and transparency, Greg aims to build trust and strengthen the relationship between Ward 5 residents and their local government.
